The first draft of the principles of the Policy on Open Access to Research Materials and Methods and the Policy Component on Open Access to Research Data is open for comments until September 25, 2020.

The working group appointed by the Expert panel on Open Data has, in cooperation with the National Open Science and Research Steering Group, drafted principles for the Policy on Open Access to Research Materials and Methods and a policy component on Open Access to Research Data.
This draft is the first part of the national Policy on Open Access to Research Materials and Methods for the Finnish higher education and research community, and it further defines the national objective for open research materials and methods mentioned in the Finnish Declaration of Open Science and Research 2020–2025. The policy will be supplemented with a policy component on open research methods in 2021–2022.
The comments will be processed in the National Open Science and Research Steering Group on 29.10.2020, after which they will be made public.

In the spirit of open science, all signed comments will be compiled and shared on a public platform. Anonymous comments will not be taken into account or published. Organisations as well as individuals can leave comments.
The comment form has separate fields for each principle and objective as well as the introduction. However, it is not necessary to leave comments on all parts of the draft. You can comment until 4 pm on September 25, 2020.
