The Open Science and Research Winter Conference 2025 will take place on 2–4 December 2025 at the University of Helsinki and the House of Sciences and Letters in Helsinki. The theme of the Winter Conference is “As open as possible.” The event is organised by the National Coordination for Open Science and Research together with the University of Helsinki.
The program includes two days of discussion on the opportunities and boundaries of open science, as well as presentations of practical solutions. Topics include, among others, responsible international collaboration and research security, open science and academic freedom of expression, and open science in research and business cooperation. In addition, the event will highlight the enablers of open science: services, incentives, and the culture of open scholarship.
This year, the program is divided into two plenary days at the Helsinki University City Centre Campus and an expert day at the House of Sciences and Letters.
The program will be in Finnish, but automatic translation tools are available for online participants. Most of the programme will be streamed, but some sessions will only be accessible on-site. It is also possible to register only for selected sessions, each of which has a separate registration option on the form.
More information will be added to this page during autumn 2025.
