What do we really mean when we talk about citizen science? A two‑hour webinar on 20 April 2026 12-14 (EET) that introduces key concepts of citizen science and explores how researchers from different fields put these ideas into practice.
Webinar seeks to shed light on the practical realities of conducting research together with members of the public. There is a particular interest in the challenges and solutions researchers have encountered when applying citizen science, co‑research, or crowdsourced observation in their work. How have researchers involved people outside the academic in ways that allow them to meaningfully contribute to the research? What strategies have helped ensure that involvement remains responsible, ethical, and methodologically sound? The invited speakers will address these questions from their own disciplinary perspectives, sharing lessons learned, concrete practices, and insights from ongoing and completed projects.
- Please register using the online link by Friday 17 April at 12:00. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants before the event.
The webinar is intended for researchers and staff involved in supporting research who are interested in citizen science, its methods, and its practical applications. Webinar language is English.
